CONDENSED PROFILE:
• Field Service Engineer with broad-based experience in diverse electrical, mechanical and structural applications widely demonstrated in residential, commercial and heavy industrial environments. Specific knowledge includes: Installations, system testing & troubleshooting of electronic and electro-mechanical technologies in the elite security, fire and telecommunication service industry ~ Mechanical and civil engineering skills in installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and rebuilding of various types of capital equipment machinery and mineral process systems ~ Building inspections conducted in accordance with ASHI standards of practice for prospective buyers, mortgage institutions and real estate investors.
My father was a general contractor and building superintendent throughout most of his life therefore, he became my mentor at an early age. He taught me various skills from the importance of job preparation to site clean-up including the real work ethic that a job should not even be attempted unless it can be performed right the first time. These type of skills (ie. carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry...etc.) are second nature to me and need to be expressed so that one can realize the depth of my experience and character.
On construction sites with my father I learned to use basic hand tools and progressed to power tools such as jig saws, circular saws, reciprocating saws, band saws, hammer drills, drill presses, chain saws and other various equipment. Over time I became very competent in the building construction trades such as framing, roofing, plumbing, electrical, hanging sheetrock, spackling, painting, building forms & pouring concrete, laying block. . . . etc.
While employed for seven years with ADT Security Systems I continually exhibited the skills of carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and electrical trades and applied them to new and old residential, commercial, institutional and industrial building construction sites. The work environment ranged from hospitals, churches, schools, banks, manufacturing plants, warehouses, shopping malls, leading retail stores and scientific laboratories to government buildings such as 911 emergency staffed civil defense offices to state courthouses, federal buildings and prisons. During this time, I acquired numerous technical skills such as understanding and working with low and high voltage distribution systems, reading electrical schematics and construction drawings, pulling all types of special wiring, bending and installing thin wall and rigid conduit, climbing high ladders and installing water temperature / level supervision devices on tops of 200ft gravity tanks, working on and testing wet and dry sprinkler systems, using ditch witches to bury and splice multiple conductor data cables, using all types of electro-mechanical high lifts from scissor lifts to telescopic cherry pickers - some of which were controlled from the work bucket. As an electronics technician & licensed electrician, using all types of electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, meggers and alike was protocol ever since I served in the U.S. Navy as an electronics technician.
My expertise with systematic troubleshooting, specific equipment maintenance on commercial and industrial sites, system commissioning and engineering reports are skills which I have been continually demonstrating for the past 19 years since my employment as a product engineer, project engineer & field service engineer with Fuller Co. / FL Smidth.
Installations, repairs, preventive maintenance and systematic troubleshooting within many trades over the years are the vital building blocks which have qualified me to become a very dependable and hard working individual to be employed in a hands-on or supervisory capacity. Understanding how to work effectively with people and delegate responsibility are also key components to many solutions.
